Sambo's and the Pan Am Worldport also enter the conversation as W and Art discuss the fate of these marvels of Googie architecture. 70 minutes.

Art's comments: "An Evening with the Buddies Lounge was one of the first podcasts I ever heard, and one I return to regularly. If you have the slightest interest in music, recorded sound, or pop culture of the `50's-`60's, this will be the most enjoyable hour you've ever spent in school."

Discover Jaclyn Fleming, pre-Post Apocalyptica !

The Canadian-born, Hollywood-bound actress talks about her beginnings in Toronto improv theater (including studying with the legendary Second City), to producing her own stage play in Los Angeles, L.A.: Post Apocalyptica. Plus, what does she think of the current controversy around infamous Toronto mayor Rob Ford? Does her good friend and co-playwright, former Penthouse Pet Sam Phillips, still look good naked? It's all inside!

Then, lose yourself in a great track by Kansas/San Francisco trance-jazz trio Life On Earth called "Woes of the Uninsured."

Art's comments: "The conversation that made it to tape is great, but there's even more to this L.A. story that listeners will see unfold in the near future. Learn about Jaclyn Fleming here and now, rather than later on IMDB. Also thanks to TChad Quarterly for the photo."

David "The Nuzzy" Nussbaum joins Art by Skype. The Nuzzy is well-known as a member of "The Stern Super Fan Roundtable" show on Howard Stern's Sirius/XM satellite radio channel. He's also a Twitter celebrity with over 17,000 followers, has produced podcasts for such stars as actor Andy Dick and comedian Fred Stoller, and has also hosted his own podcast, "Decently Funny with Nuzzy and the Guy," since 2009.

Art's comments: "If you're interested in Internet media and its future, David Nussbaum is one of the key people you want to hear speak. As for my own performance on this one...so anyway, it was great to have Nuzzy give us some of his time."

Conan O'Brien, that other talk show host, brought his show to Atlanta recently. Art talks about attending a special standup performance by the show's writers, and meeting legendary comedic actor David Koechner, a.k.a. Todd Packer from "The Office" and Champ Kind from "Anchorman."

Then, Hard Rock Chick returns to discuss her trip on the "Barge from Hell," another trip to the Grammys, and a special segment, "In the Listening Room." She opines on a series of rock and metal cuts, even though she's really too nice to do so, but is goaded by Art.

Stay tuned until the end for a special rememberance of the 10th anniversary of the beginning of the second Iraq war. 1 hr. 25 mins.

Art's comments: "This is the longest one yet, but I think it's all good. THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID! (Office reference.) And 'Landslide' is on AC/DC's 'Flick of the Switch' album, not 'High Voltage' like I say in the Listening Room."

Congratulations to Chase Mitchell

Chase Mitchell

Hello, podcast listeners!

Sorry it's been over a month since I've posted a show. As you may have guessed if you listened to the last episode, I'm in the corner getting toweled off and having some smelling salts put under my nose. Maybe I'll be back in the ring later.

In the meantime, congratulations to a very real success story from this podcast: Chase Mitchell (that's him on the left). If you listened to his episode back in October, you know his comedy writing was already drawing attention from major players in the entertainment business. It all began for him a year ago on New Year's Eve. Now, on the eve of 2013, things have taken off to the next level.

Chase is moving to New York because he's gotten a job as a writer for a new late night MTV comedy show. It's called the Sarah & Nikki Show and debuts sometime in January.

Yep, dreams do happen. We may have ran across the next Judd Apatow. Hats off, Chase Mitchell!

Talk to you all in 2013.

27 - What Do YOU Think? (Just Art again)

* If you have trouble with the shopping cart loading, sorry. Click the button again. ReverbNation might be hanging.

Start your holiday with some angry ranting! No, we don't mean your mother-in-law after her third glass of wine, we mean Art! He wants to know what you suggest to improve the show, and vents about his creative frustration and irritation at the show's lack of growth. (In other words, you're part of a "selective audience," to borrow a phrase from Spinal Tap.)

Finally, a ray of sunshine peeks through the clouds as Gnomonaut returns with a performance of their song "Bekajamir," performed late in 2011 at the Sweetwater Brewery in Duluth, Georgia. 46 minutes.

Art's comments: "I think I have a great product in this show, but since an artist's nose is only two inches from his canvas, it's hard to have perspective. What does everyone else think I could do to improve this? I'd love to know.

"Please pardon that my request for your input takes the form of a 30+ minute rant and rave. I just hope I don't bore you to death. Oh, but why apologize for that now?

"By the way if you're new here, welcome, but this is NOT the episode to start with. Try any of the others.

"Oh, and I forgot to say it during the show - HAPPY THANKSGIVING!"
